ONE THOUSAND HITS FOR ANGELEX!!!

We've finally got a thousand visitors to this great site! Hurrah! Thanks to all who have supported Angelex and to those who have motivated myself through the past five months. At its inception, Angelex, was merely a break off of The Husky Gathering--since then, the site's gained some bit of character, and a lot more content. Still, we've got a lot more to go until we're up to Angelex's full potential! I hope to tap potential soon, and I'm setting up a goal! At around the same time next year (9/1/03), Angelex will have 10,000 hits. Impossible? C'est non! To the journey to 10,000!

Here's an old Angelex article documenting the 100th hit.

04.15.02 The Angelex Sanctuary celebrates its 1 week anniversary and 100th index page view today! This is truly a glorious day in the history of the Internet!

"C is for Cockring" Reviewed!
By Skyrien - 8/14/2002

Oh my God, Lucipherious has done it again. In a wicked re-rendering of the "C is for Cockring"  -- a severely perverted parody of the original Cookie Monster song, this time, Ms. Hilbiliy sings along with the words! A lot of time has been put into this (what kind of life does this guy lead?) and it pays in nasty laughs.

For the effort of creating such rare amusement, and the humor that came along with it, 3 Globes for "C is for Cockring". I'm sure in the future we can expect more great things from Lucipherious!

WARNING - This animation contains X-rated content; I'M NOT KIDDING! If this stuff offends you, DON'T CLICK THE LINK! If it doesn't, and you're over 18 (or are just smart enough) then go on ahead. Otherwise, for your own safety and sanity, stay in Disneyland.

06.26.02 - TOMORROW (6/27) Outing to Cypress Cove. It's gonna be a hot day, perfect time for a few hours at a water park! You are welcome, along with an estimated 10-20 people participating. This trip is sponsored by Jon Huang. Questions go to him.

Time: 4-7 PM
Address: Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park
              8301 James Avenue
              Woodridge, IL 60517
Phone:
  (630)985-0300
Money: est. $10 ~ 15

6.19.02 - Possible outing to Six Flags - Great America sometime in the first 2 weeks of July. If you have interest in such a trip, contact me!

06.03.02 - The Lord of the Rings Movie Outing - For all those who haven't seen it, I (Alex) will be taking people to the Ogden 6 Theater to view. Cost estimate: $3.00

05.14.02 - Dinotopia Parts 1 & 2: Quick look! (3.5/4 globes)

Pros: Amazing scenery and graphics worthy of a feature film; intriguing philosophical values -- a visionary utopia, a balance with humans and nature that even Daniel Quinn (Ishmael) would approve of. Fascinating storyline. Vastly improved acting in part 2. Alice Krige is an awesome actress this time assuming the believable role of a matriarch. Talking dinos not nearly as bad as assumed -- Zippo in fact is pretty appealing. It's all good. No Jar Jar Binks here.

Cons: Horrible acting on part of the two 18-year-old main actors Tyron Leitso (Karl) and Wentworth Miller (David) in part 1.

Overall: A likable fantasy story that for once depicts dinosaurs coexisting with humans. Disney and Hallmark put in a lot of financial effort ($85 million), and it truly shows. They got most of the stuff right (excepting maybe the acting of the two brothers) to bring us a story worth remembering and is so far, almost worthy of the Seal of Excellence. We can't wait for Part 3 of 3, which airs today at 7 PM.

05.03.02 - Spiderman quick look -
(3 globes)

Pros: Amazing city and fighting SFX; Tobey's acting; Kirsten Dunst's physique.

Cons: Kirsten Dunst's acting --especially in the end; sometimes far-fetched; no cool Twin Tower scene as promised in the old trailers; inconsistent quality

Overall: One of the best comic-book-to- movie renditions to date, and yet still falls short of being an awesome movie.
FULL REVIEW LATER

04.30.02 We are seeing Spiderman: The Movie this Friday (May 3) . Since we are bored, anyone who wants to join may contact us.

04.21.02 - A character in this world named "Jason J. Liu" has created a site purely devoted to Freespace and Freespace 2, both awesome space combat games. Though we cannot say the same for his site as of yet (we give him 2 globes out of four--but getting better), we'll leave the final evaluation up to you. His site can be found at: http://fs2heaven.netfirms.com. The Angelex Sanctuary has no affiliation whatsoever with fs2heaven.

04.14.02 - '40's Dance ends. I personally think the ticket prices were too high ($10 maybe would sound better). A lot of ppl didn't know how to dance jazz for jack, but it was fun nevertheless. The NNHS Jazz band was awesome, as were the singers. Click here for more! FULL STORY (By the Big J)

04.12.02 - We attempted to get into Blade II but a "guard" was standing in front of the door and escorting any movie hoppers and underage viewers out of the theater. The SOB prevented us from seeing B2, so we were forced to see The Rookie, a rated G Disney movie about baseball. Don't expect a review on this movie.

EVENTS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
04.30.02 - Regarding the Super Smash Bros and SC, tournaments.

The tournament has been put back into planning due to the lack of participants and the rising conflicts within Angelex.

The main problem, we need more people! If you are interested, refer to any of the people currently involved and ask them to send word to Skyrien. For the SSB tournament to commence, we need 16 people. For the 2v2 SC tourney, we need 8 teams of 2. Due to his involvement in the failure of the past tournament Will L. has been banned from this tourney.

Current people involved/interested:

SSB and Melee

- Jason L.
- Henry F.
- Harry C.
- Alex J.
- P.J. M.

Starcraft

- David H. (phat)
- Jason L.
- Alex J.
- P.J. M.

April 18 - A Super Smash Bros. Meleé, and/or SSB original tournament will be held soon! Also, a 2v2 (or 3v3) team SC tournament to commemorate the beginning of Starcraft's 5th year may be held sometime in early next month. Cash is involved.

If you think you'd consider participating in either event, then submit your name and e-mail in the SPEAK OUT!!! section stating so, or contact me personally.

A meeting will be held at Anumama's residence this Saturday to discuss details.

Enriched Written Semester Project Web Books

Here are some evaluations and links to a few of our web books. Special commending goes to El Rahjj for creating the (second) most technologically advanced school site ever made, and to our own 4 AM Publishing Company for artistic merit in the design and visual appeal of the site. Good work on these and all other web books.

The 4 AM Publishing Company (Artistic Merit)

Alexander - Matt - Arpan - Chris - Jason

One thing that we were lacking in was liveliness. Yes, the various pictures did add a bit to the site's overall boring look, but look as you may, you will not find a single animation anywhere on the site. A little motion couldn't have hurt...

White Lotus Publishing

Albert - Calvin - Haeyeon - ????

Overall, the site was the most appealing. It was well structured, and the elements of design were well utilized in its creation. Also, the usage of pictures fit in well. One thing we noticed however, was that one of the "white" lotuses was actually "pink". Strange, no?

El Rahjj - The Rule (Technological Mastery)

Anubhav - John - Jon - Hamza - Rohit

Overall, this site was full of animated pictures and flashing words--and only one site surpassed this on terms of technological mastery. However, one thing that kept this site from seeming truly alive was the lack of artistry. Yeah... adding all the moving parts was a good attempt at trying to make the page jump off the screen, but mostly what it accomplished was make a dead site seem more than it really is. The dark colors, the bland pictures, and the amusing, yet unappealing waterfall (stare closely at one part of it to notice its fallacies) all add to the zombie effect. A little usage of the elements of designed would have helped greatly.
